In the Fall of 2016, swimming became the ninth sport to join Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South. A small group of athletes began practicing at Franklin Central High School.
The popularity of swimming increased so much, the small group began to grow and the University of Indianapolis (Uindy) swim team joined in the fun, supporting the Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South Swimming program during the 2018 season.
Each week, Uindy swim team members work alongside South Side Storm swimmers to improve each athlete’s skills.
