It’s hard to believe. With each passing year, the Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South Fall Extravaganza just keeps getting better and better! This year was no exception. The Southside Storm’s major fundraiser of the year landed a spot on the WISH-TV 8 LIVE NEWS one day prior to the event and Jeff Mohler, President and CEO of Special Olympics Indiana, was in attendance.
The Fall Extravaganza delivered all the typical activities as expected, including an online silent auction, chili cook-off, hamburgers, hotdogs, live band, games, hayrides, face painting, bonfire, pumpkin patch, family photos, costumes, and the crowd favorite — horseback rides and horse carriage rides.
This year marked the 12th year for the annual Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County Southside Storm fall event. The commitment from organizers, who also happen to be volunteers, is overwhelming and the support from the community through their generous donations is heartwarming. Also, the generosity of the Bowling family who graciously open their doors every year to provide the venue for the fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
Proceeds from this event help offset the operational costs of maintaining the Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South Program which enables special-needs individuals year-round access to sports, exercise, and lasting friendships.
