Organizers for The Indianapolis Flower and Patio Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds invited Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South athletes to staff the coat check during the event to benefit the Southside Storm organization.
Participating athletes worked two hour shifts hanging up showgoers’ coats for $2 per coat and all proceeds went to Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South to assist with the program’s operational costs such as entry fees, uniforms, activity fees, equipment, and more.
It also provided an excellent opportunity for Southside Storm athletes to mingle within the community and create public awareness for Special Olympics Indiana.
