Every April, Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South sets aside time to reflect on the past year, recognize achievements, share in the memories, and enjoy an evening of food, fun, friends, and family during the Southside Storm’s Annual Banquet.
This year marked the seventh consecutive year the Holy Rosary Church hosted the packed-house event and the Knights of Columbus #14449 whipped up a fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings. It was the fourth year Millennium Entertainment (Chris and Karla Miller) rocked out the tunes, keeping the dance floor grooving.
Also, Peter Boylan once again captured the past year’s Kodak moments through a PowerPoint presentation synchronized to music. The presentation included a tribute to Ron Bader, a devoted father, husband, and avid supporter of Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South. Although Ron lost his battle with cancer in January, his spirit and passion for Special Olympics lives on.
Thanks to ALL the coaches, volunteers, and supporters who keep the eternal flame burning and allow our athletes the opportunity to overcome obstacles and shine through the glory of their accomplishments!
