Although Special Olympics Indiana – Marion South does not actively participate in equestrian events, that didn’t stop Southside Storm athlete Tim McGinnis from trading in his shorts and sneakers for boots and a really cool cowboy hat. Tim participates in equine-assisted therapeutic riding at Agape Riding Center and was able to saddle-up and grab the reins during the Eunice Kennedy Shriver (EKS) Games in Equine Eventing for Special Olympics Indiana.
Tim competed in two event classes — Equitation and Trail Riding. When it was his turn to cowboy up, Tim didn’t disappoint — he sat up tall in the saddle and rode away with two fourth place ribbons.
