Tonya Did It Again!!

Tonya West is one busy lady; not only with her Special Olympics Indiana – Marion County South activities, but also with her involvement in community affairs. She even has articles from several local newspapers to prove it! Pick up a local, southside newspaper and chances are pretty good you might just see Tonya’s big, infectious grin spanning from ear to ear. This time, she landed a front page spot in the Daily Journal which serves Franklin, Greenwood, Center Grove, Whiteland, New Whiteland, Bargersville, Trafalgar, and Edinburgh.

At first glance, you might not recognize Tonya — she traded in her sneakers and Southside Storm uniform for a Cinderella gown and transformed her athletic prowess into sheer elegance. Tonya recently attended an event called “A Night to Shine” which is part of a program sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and more than 200 host churches in 48 states and eight countries. The event provides an opportunity for special-needs adults, 16 and older, to experience a night out on the town to dance the night away in a formal setting with all the frills.
